Day End Wrap Up...

Oh, another day, another dollar.

Work was work was work was work.

Class was interesting. Viral marketing at least. So I have become infatuated (I refuse to use the word obsessed) with Twitter. Over the past week I have tweeted my life away and since this class only meets once a week I only see the people once a week. However, tonight as everyone walked in... I could tell they knew exactly who I was and what I was doing for the entire week whether they liked it or not. Well, that's the internet for ya isn't it!?

Tomorrow is an organize my life day. Should be a good time!

On the Sched...

Gustav Klimt
Just a bit of a gloomy New York day...

It smells like rain outside but thats not really a problem since I am inside until 10 o'clock tonight.
  • Neuberger Museum of Art10-4
  • Class 4:30-6
  • Class 6:30-10

and I'm spent.

Day End Wrap Up...

Another Monday under wraps... Thank the LORD!

Work passed fine but classes dragged. And by dragged I mean a watched pot never boils slow! I though I would never get out of there!

After I got out of class at 10 I zoomed to the rescue of a classmate whose battery in her car died! I got the call for help through Twitter.. how strange! I had to do quite the maneuvering act to get the cables to reach but I persevered and got that baby runnin!

So, with a fresh coat of paint on my fingers I hit the hay, until tomorrow!

College...

Many a time have I contemplated the necessity of it. I mean I LOVE learning! Like, learning's #1 fan is sitting right here! BUT!

Sometimes I wonder if on my way to getting int the real world is it worth of going to college? I look at the past 4 years and really wonder how much of what I have taken in can I actually apply to my real life.

It was fun and all learning about Greek and Roman History, and where Tanzania is on a map but when it comes down to it... that helps me not in a job.I can honestly say that I have learned more applicable information waitressing from the age of 15-20 at a 10 table dining room pizzeria than in some of my college classes. I have come to the conclusion that college doesn't actually prepare you for the real world. Thank goodness I have worked in multipule places and gathered real world skills such as:
  • how to meet board members
  • how to prove yourself to your boss
  • How to really meet a deadline
  • Not asking a thousand questions and figuring out the task on your own

It's all fine and well reading a book but, when are you going to be reading a book in the office... I mean, unless you're in publishing or something.

Maybe someone should start a class called Real World Office Skills or Conference Calls 101? I don't know I just feel that I could have probably graduated last year or maybe even the year before that and been ok.

But then again... maybe I'm just burnt out of the whole process...

On the Sched...

Wow... definitely did not fall asleep until at least 3AM. Despite all my trying and tossing and turning... My brain refused to shut down. But here I am awake at 8 o'clock showered and off to the Neuberger Museum of Art I will be going.

What will today hold for me you ask?
  • A drive to the Neuberger Museum of Art
  • A day of working there until 4 oclock
  • A class from 4:30-6
  • A gross dinner purchased at school
  • A class from 6:30-9:50
  • A very tired little girl driving back to the bronx
And there you have it ladies and gentlemen... muh Life. Happpy Monday.

On the Sched/Day End Wrap Up...

What am I the biggest slacker in the world. Well, I mean, I was a little busy today... I SWEAR!

So I paid the rest of my credit card bill and officially LOVE direct deposit! ugh it feels so good to not have any money hanging in limbo. What doesn't feel too great however is not having any money hanging in my checking account! I'll be eating bread and butter for the next 2 weeks!

I also did a ton of running driving around gathering silent auction items for the Neuberger Museum of Art. It's nice though because despite the poor economic climate people really are being generous... I mean it's great exposure, you may as well right?

Classes were classes tonight. Love Viral Marketing. Everyone gets real rowdy and into it... Twitter rules out classes and I love seeing what everyone else in the class is twittering about while we are attemping to absorb anything being said. Not that we don't care. No biggie though this generation is made to multi-task. I mean we're basically manufactured to at this point. Anyway I love Twitter and I suggest everyone join. NOW. and follow me! catiev123 :)

Over and OUT!

Day End Wrap Up...

Womp Womp Womp...
Another day turns to another night.

Classes were interesting today... I love when I learn. I think it's such a satisfying feeling and secretly I will really miss school once I graduate. Not like I'll never learn a thing again but there's just this feeling of leaving a class and knowing something new that I really LOVE. I don't feel attached to any of the three college's I've attended but I feel attached to the knowledge gained at all of them. Just because I've learned 3 really different sets of knowledge... if that makes sense!?

Glad I ran again today. It clears my life haha hopefully I'll drag myself out of bed tomorrow and go for another little one before work... ohhhh work I have a feeling it'll be busy tomorow for some reason. Which, makes the day go quicker so bring it on!!!

so in the words of a wise Tiger... "TTFN, Ta Ta For Now."

On the Sched...

Woah. for some reason today is super stressful!

Didn't even get to post my daily doings so I'm going to have to go back a bit to fill you in.
Today I've already:
  • gone for a run
  • took a shower
  • done like 4 hours of homework
  • had some oatmeal
And then for the rest of the day:
  • Leaving to drive up to Purchase around 3:30
  • Psych of Creativity from 4:30-6
  • Internet and Business from 6:30-9:50

Day End Wrap Up...

SOO in conclusion!

I cleaned my room, refolded my entire closet, fixed my shoes, threw out some crap and found things that still had tags on them!

My Aunt and Uncles son came over with his wife and they're really fun.

Then (since the kitchen still isn't done) the 3 of us went out to dinner. MMM french onion soupy!

No work tomorrow at the Neuberger Museum of Art! WAHOO. but Purchase College stays open none-the-less. apparently we don't believe in celebrating Presidents

Mission Accomplished...

Success! Dress was found for my Aunt after a complete day (9:30-4) of shopping. It's always fun for the first 2 hours... but once my blood sugar drops i fall into the dreaded shopping coma and lose all momentum, in which it is time for lunch. Food really is a beautiful thing.

Upon conquering my first mission I returned back to my condo grabbed the keys and headed back up to Purchase. Into the Neuberger I went for a nice little "mixer". For the group who attended this little soirĂ©e we were informed of the many accomplishments and improvements made to the Arts Management program. It was pretty exciting to see that a few students complaining by way of town hall meeting can put into motion big changes. It almost made me sorry I was graduating in May and won't be around to see what I think will be real improvements to the program... sad story.

And for the rest of my evening I plan on taking it easy and enjoying some King of the Hill and Chelsea Lately...

Day Off?

Today's Schedule:
  • Up at 8 (woooof)
  • Up to Lord and Taylor with Aunt should take all day to find her a dress for her son's wedding
  • back down to the bronx
  • back up to Purchase College 4:30 Art Management "mixer"
My Aunt's son is getting married next month in Mexico... unfortunately I won't be going but watching their dog Mugzy... She has yet to purchase a dress so here we go! This is going to test my will power because after buying books for school this month and the rest of my bills I am certifiably BROKE.

WISH ME LUCK!

Ok winter... I've had enough.

Hello Mother Nature, it's me, Catie.

So I know it's only the first week of February but the snow needs to go. In December the flakes make me feel like a little kid. But now... they just bring me misery! The ground is too wet for me to play in and only causes black ice. Traveling around Purchase College there are puddles bigger than Lake Michigan that become hidden by the snow. Nothing is worse than the bottoms of your pants getting soaked and not drying for the entire day at work...
So, Mother Nature, if you could... ease up on New York.

With lots of love,

Catie

On today's schedule:
  • Waking up too early (8)
  • Workin at the Neu 10-5 (left early due to bad weather, didn't really feel like crashing my car today)
  • Battling traffic down the Hutch
  • Chinese for dinner... (still no kitchen)
  • Working on senior project/every other class I'm in
Looking forward to having tomorrow off : )
