Friends...

I drove upstate tonight. One of my best-friends is home and I decided I would hang with him. It's funny, how friendships go through phases.

I will admit he was my first boyfriend, first love, (for like 3 1/2 years WOAH when we were 13 haha) but we have known each other since 6th grade and have always been close. I will admit, there was a rough patch there for about a year and a half when I broke up with him but don't all friend ships go through rough spots?

No matter what though we know more about each other than anyone else... so it doesn't really makes sense to stop talking just because we used to date. Lots of our friends say its odd, which doesn't really matter clearly since we're still friends. And I mean it is in most circumstances but I think we have found a way to make it work. I meet his new girlfriends he criticizes my new boyfriends always taking into consideration opinions because most of the time, in the end, they are usually spot on.

He thinks I'm crazy for going to California but was the first to offer me help driving there. I think it's crazy that he is trying out for NFL and has a very, very good chance of making it in. He also knows I will never give him the satisfaction of asking for free tickets or an autograph. His head barely fits through the door already.

Just glad I kept a good friend.

  1. I think the way it goes is that the NFL recruits you, I don't think there is a try-out. No walk ons, like in college football. But hey, I could be wrong. Good luck to him. Rough sport. Personally can't stand it. Too many injuries.

  3. I've been meaning to ask you, what are you going to do in SoCal? Do you have relatives there? Or are you going to go at it alone? I went to LA for grad school. It was fun while it lasted. Love the sun, the beach and bike riding. Oh, and school was okay too.
